The 2nd PlatMat Conference

On May 25, 2017, the 2nd PlatMat Conference was held: Innovations and experiences of support for teacher and pupils with visual impairments in mathematics education, which presented the results of the “OPTY: Study of the effectiveness of computerization of mathematics education for students with visual impairments using the optimized PlatMat tools” research project.

The conference was an event summarizing the activities carried out in the OPTY project, in particular an opportunity to share experiences from pilot mathematics classes (full-time and remote) supported by the PlatMat technology, carried out in three educational institutions: SOSW (Special School and Educational Centre) for Visually Impaired Children on Koźmińska street in Warsaw, SOSW for Blind and Visually impaired children on Tyniecka street in Krakow and Public Junior High School No. 3 with Integration Units in Siedlce. The teachers participating in the OPTY project presented practical examples of the use and use of PlatMat for teaching specific issues from the core curriculum of mathematics, as well as the benefits of using the PlatMat for the teacher (preparation for classes, conducting classes) and the student (work at a lesson in the classroom and work at home with remote teacher support).
